Sail Gloucester is a non-profit educational organization, whose mission is to improve our community and the sport of sailing by providing access, facilities, and sailing instruction to people of all socio-economic backgrounds, skill levels, and physical abilities. The company was formed in August of 2008, and is applying for 501(c)(3) status with appropriate state and federal agencies.

In 2009, Sail Gloucester Community Boating Center, Inc started with 24 youth and Adult sailors from the immediate Gloucester/Annisquam area.

In 2010 Sail Gloucester Community Boating Center, Inc looks to expand to 70-80 participates with the addition of new boats and staff.

Our staff will all have at least a US Sailing Level 1 Certification.

Our fee for children's membership for sailing lessons, age 8 and above, is a nominal $1.00, because of this we are reliant on donations along with adult memberships of $300 a year to maintain our operating budget. If you feel, as we do, that healthy outdoor activities, meeting new friends, and developing an appreciation of nature all should be part of every child's development, please consider making a donation to our community boating center.

Please note that our organization is not the same as the Sail Gloucester alliance that organized the Fourth of July Tall Ship Celebration – from July 4-7, 2009. Click here to visit their site.
